Catalyst Rwanda has been set up to organise sustainable programmes of arts activities for vulnerable young people – including orphans of the genocide and AIDS, and former street children – and to organise artistic development programmes and exchanges with young emerging Rwandan artists. Our aim is to contribute to the ongoing societal rebuilding of Rwanda and its cultural identity, after the 1994 genocide.

We are working with several Rwandan partners, including Les Enfants de Dieu, a residential rehabilitation centre for street children, Ishyo Arts Centre, a performing arts centre in Kigali, Spark4Change, supporting the education and personal development of vulnerable young people, and Kwetu Film Institute, recently established to train young film-makers in Rwanda.

We also have a number of UK partners, including The Arts Catalyst, Dance 360, and Haring Woods Associates.
